License for 2.7 transferrable to 3.0?

I bought 2.7 and have since downloaded and installed 3.0, but the dialog boxes that ME 3.0 pops up all say "non-commercial use only" or similar. Do I need to buy another license, or if not, how do I tell my installation that I have a license?

You need a new key file. When have you bought the madExcept 2.x license? If it was in 2005, you can send me a mail and you'll get a free upgrade key in return. If you bought prior to 2005, you need to buy an upgrade for USD 50 per license:
