Encrypted *.map file -> *.mad file

Post by otherland »

Hi Mathias,

on your website you write that inspite of appending the map file to the binary one can ship the encrypted and compressed mad file with the application. Maybe I'm blind, but how's the mad file builded? There's no such file in my project folder after compiling the project.

Thanks in advance,

Carmen

The mad file is created if you turn the option "append map file to binary" off, while leaving "handle exceptions" on.

Hi Mathias,

sorry, I didn't found it first, because Windows thinks the mad file is a link to an Access module. In the DOS box I've found the mad file.

Thanks

Hi,

I want to append the mad and map file to binary, but the map file is always created. I cannot find the option "append map file to binary" in madExcept 3.0a anymore. In madExcept 2.7 it was in the general tab. Are I'm blind?

Don't worry, in madExcept 3 the map file is always attached to the binary file. The map file is also created (and not deleted). But that doesn't really matter. Just don't worry, everything is fine.
