Beginers questions! Smtp settings?

Post by pete »

Hi

Firstly i must say madexcept looks excellent! :D

I have just been recomended to it by several people in a yahoo group forum. I didnt even know things like this existed...

Anyway my question is:

When i have the email settings set to act as a smtp client, and type in my isp's smtp server, it works fine, but if i either leave out the server name, or choose 'act as smtp server' the email fails to send.

Am i missing something? I am running Norton Internet Security 2005, is that the problem?

Thanks
Pete

When using SMTP client you have to give in the server name.

Please start the tool "madTestMailAPIs" and post here what the error log looks like.

Seemingly your firewall blocks the MX lookup request.
