madExcept Settings is invisible

Post by avaga »

Hi!
I am registered madExcept 3 user. Early I used it in DXE.
Now I trying to install madExcept 4 into DXE6 (for checking/testing).
The madExcept installed sucessfully, but i can not see "Project-->madExcept Settings" in Delphi IDE.
What is wrong?

You probably accidently installed madExcept 3? The installer contains both madExcept 3 and 4 and will preselect the version you're licensed for. You need to manually change that to madExcept 4.

At first, I installed a package with version 3.
Then I uninstalled it.
Then I re-install a package, but with the 4th version.
And I do not see the settings.
How can I correct this situation ?

Did you download the latest installer from my homepage? If so, please check if in the madCollection\madExcept folder there is a BDSxx folder which matches your Delphi version. Then in the registry you can search for "disabled packages" (or was it "disabledpackages"?) to check if the madExcept design time bpls might be listed there. If so, delete those entries. One more check: In the madCollection\madBasic folder there should be the help/documentation. Please check the version history to see if madExcept is listed there.

I uninstalled package again.
Clean all of the package files and registry.
After reinstalling everything worked fine.
Most of all, the reason for the error was that the last time I additionally installed some DPKs, and two of them got into "Disabled Packages" registry section.
Now, after a thorough cleansing - all right.

Thank You.
