Installation problems Delphi 5

Post by desireless »

Hi,

either I am complete stupid or blind. I downloaded the free madCollection.exe, the installation went without problems but after starting delphi I could not see the projects/madExcept settings menu point. I installed both packages madBasic_.dpk and madHelp_.dpk, restarted, opened the project - nothing.

Is there anything else to do?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hello,

and sorry for the very late reply!

Hmmmmm... That is extremely strange. Haven't got any similar reports yet. First of all: You don't need to do anything manually. No need to install any packages or anything like that.

Here's what I'd suggest:

(1) Remove the packages you added manually.
(2) Uninstall madCollection.
(3) Search your harddisk for "mad*.*" and remove everything which belongs to madCollection.
(4) Search your registry for "mad" and remove everything which belongs to madCollection.
(5) Reinstall madCollection.

Does the "madExcept settings" menu item still not appear in the Delphi project's menu?

My best guess would be that you didn't activate madExcept in the installer? The installer doesn't install madExcept by default. You need to activate it.
