Customers complain that our software tries to use DCOM service when an error occurs.

Does madexcept uses the DCOM service?

Nope. However, depending on your settings, madExcept tries to contact the locally installed mail client. This is done either via shellmail/mailto or via MAPI. It's possible that the locally installed mail client uses DCOM to handle MAPI stuff. Just guessing here, though...
