Trying to install for Delphi 6 AND 7

Post by Jeff »

Hi Mathias

After years of using madExcept I have struck a problem.

I have a project in Delphi6 which I am converting to D7. I'll still want to access the project in D6 for a while - so I need madExcept in both.

I tried to run the madCollection.exe and get a message:-

'
The file "madExcept.bak\order madExcept.url" could not be created.
Error message: "Access is denied".
'

The reason for going to D7 is that I need to upgrade my ICS components to ICSv7 which need a minimum of Delphi 7 BUT I am also running DBISAM3 which won't run on any later version than Delphi 7. In order to do a quick upgrade I need to move to D7 first - leaving a major overhaul of component sets until I have time to do a proper job.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

and sorry for the late reply.

Please modify the NTFS attributes of the madCollection installation folder (including all subfolders) so that your current user can delete and create files. That should probably fix the problem. If not, please check whether the file "madExcept.bak\order madExcept.url" already exists and whether you can manually delete it.
