Re: OT: searching this forum

Is this the latest version?

And to answer your post, you can fix it perhaps by using another forums software  Just joking, but joking aside I am surprised that it cannot be configured.

question about the stacktrace and method names

Hello:

I build the release version of our app and I noticed that in the bug report the stacktrace contains method names and some methods have even line numbers, even though I explicitly turned off the 'link in function names and line number'. Is it normal?

Thanks

Re: madExcept Settings

Thank you for the pointer to the settings. Another question. I want each bug report to be saved in its own file and make the date/time part of the bugreport name. I tried this: %userappdata%\MyApp\bugreport_%datetime%.txt, but it doesn't work, I guess because of the characters in the time portion. T...

OT: searching this forum

Hi: More often than not, when I try to search on this forum using the search textbox beside the New topic button, I get: The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: event log. Why is it like this? Yes, 'event' and 'log' are common but together they can na...

Re: madExcept Settings

Re: 2. I tried %USERPROFILE%\bugreport and it creates a folder named %USERPROFILE% in the same directory as the exe.

Re: madExcept Settings

Hello: A few more questions: 1. Can madExcept save the screenshots along with the bugreport? I can imagine that they could be saved as png files in the same folder and use some kind of numbering scheme. I am thinking of displaying just a simple exception message in case of exceptions, even without t...

Re: madExcept Settings

Agreed. Today I tried ME on our application. It is quite a big database application that accesses an Oracle database via TClientDataSet objects. What I am finding is that in certain scenarios the app now displays the MD default error dialog where before it simply showed a message box. I haven't cust...

Re: madExcept Settings

Thanks for your reply. I don't know what the assistants do. I have to read more... I have one more question for you. So far I've developed/tested our app without madExcept. Using madExcept is an old idea I resurrected because the users often don't report crashes. We are reaching the user testing pha...

madExcept Settings

Hello: Revisiting madExcept after 1+ years. I posted this message: http://forum.madshi.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27774 . I am interested in the same topic about the settings. Basically, we have two environments, production and test. What's the pattern for handling different ME settings for differe...

Link in function names and numbers impact

Hi: What is the performance/exe size impact in case "link in function names and line numbers" is checked? I did a simple test with VCL forms app, with an empty form, and without the function names & line numbers the size of the exe is 2,741,248 bytes, with it is 2,839,040. that is ~3.5...

Re: Integration with youtrack

Where do I find madExcept.pas? It's not installed in the free version of madCollection. Is it available upon purchasing madExcept? We will probably take a decision next week on whether to buy madExcept or not. My recommendation was to buy it  You are right about the need to write bug tracker t...

Re: Integration with youtrack

We are currently evaluating mantis and youtrack. I tested the interface between madExcept and mantis and it is working very nicely. However, we kind of like youtrack better. Is the code that deals with the web stuff publicly available somewhere? Unfortunately I can't promise you I will be working on...

Integration with youtrack

Hello:

Is it possible to configure madExcept to create an issue in youtrack? Here is the link to their rest api for creating the issue: http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display ... +New+Issue. They use a PUT command instead of POST.

Thanks

codejak

Hi:

Is your software related to codejak? If you look here http://www.codejak.net/index.php?id=9&L=0, one of the screenshots is the madexcept dialog.

Thanks

I am one of them  Well I am trying my best, but you know how it is, you can easily miss something.
