as far as i remember there were some apis to hook like some from
winsock.dll too. so not just ws_32..

i got unbelieveble BSoD's when trying to do this.
Apperently it was, MSN Plus i tryed to "bypass" or "uninstall".

detours may be code piece of software, but its old.

@uall: madshi is right in the points of easy of use thing. I know many people including me, who (if they want to "hook") use madShi because its, a multi-purpose hooking kit. Even i tryed to make "security" software and realised, like iconic sayed, that this is very easy to bypass...

dunno if it would fit you very well, its a "protect your family" feature
of Vista :D its accessed through the Security settings somewhere on
the Control panel.

it could use a bunch of things, it may generate a unique serial out from the drive serial or the username and such stuff. But i think what you do is illegal. The best method would be, not to get banned anyway. If we all would keep using madHook for such reasons, we dont need to complain about AV's p...

Vista now has a build-in keylogger that even loggs Messenger conversions..

Ive been very right with throwing my project on ice months ago.

hey, good news :) i hope everything goes well. Yes indeed, VMWare does crash very often on Vista. some applications (especially firewalls and security applications) prevent exactly this. for minor applications off course, this should be no problem.
