Re: Installationproblem on Delphi-11.1

This is very confusing. The folder is named madExcept5 internally, but it's supposed to be renamed to madExcept. I wonder why that doesn't work. Maybe the AV product is blocking access because it's in the process of analyzing some files in that folder? Wild guess, might be completely inaccurate. But...

Re: Installationproblem on Delphi-11.1

That's really weird, I'm not sure why that happens. I've had a similar problem reported I think about once or twice in the last 10 years, but I don't remember how it was solved. Have you tried running the madCollection installer as either non-admin or admin? Does that make a difference? Also, here's...

Re: Installationproblem on Delphi-11.1

The folder is not supposed to be named "madExcept5", it's supposed to be named "madExcept". So something clearly went wrong there. Please try this: 1) Completely uninstall madCollection. 2) Make sure that C:\Program Files (x86)\madCollection exists and is completely empty. 3) Giv...

Re: Installationproblem on Delphi-11.1

In the madCollection folder, is there a madExcept sub folder? If so, is there a "BDS22" sub folder in the madExcept folder?

Re: Installationproblem on Delphi-11.1

Did you run your Delphi installation with admin rights or from a non-admin user account?

Try giving "Everyone" full read & execute access to the madCollection root folder + all sub folders and files.

Re: RAD Studio 11.2 Support

11.2 is compatible for 11.1 and 11.0, so in theory no new madCollection version is needed. However, there currently is a problem with madExcept 64bit. There's a fix provided by a user in this thread: http://forum.madshi.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28986 I'm currently stuck in another projector, but ...

Re: Exceptions not caught

I've no explanation for that right now. The easy solution is to just copy madExcept.pas into your project folder, I guess. Though, it should work the other way, too.

Re: Exception not caught in Delphi 11.2 Alexandria 64 bit

Yes, I tried that earlier today, but it doesn't seem to help. Unfortunately, I've absolutely no development resources available in the next 2-3 weeks. So as unlucky as this is, it has to wait... :sorry:

Re: Exceptions not caught

In the non-working case, it seems that the wizard doesn't find anything related to madExcept.obj at all. Are you sure that the madExcept.obj is even linked in at all?

Re: Exceptions not caught

To be honest, I've no idea what's going on. One thing you could do is create an empty file "madExceptWizard.txt" on your desktop, and then start BCB and compile the project. If you do this both ways (with obj file vs pas file) and then compare the log files, maybe you can spot a meaningful...

Re: Asprotect

I don't know Asprotect, but usually these protection tools have options you can enable/disable. Maybe it's only one specific option which breaks madExcept? There's not too much I can do about it, in any case.

Re: Unattended installation

The madCollection installer supports "-silent" and "-path=c:\whatever" switches.

Re: Exception not caught in Delphi 11.2 Alexandria 64 bit

Ok, I've installed Delphi 11.2 now and can reproduce the problem. I don't have any time available in the next 2 weeks, though. Is there any way to turn this new ASLR support off for now?

Re: Exception not caught in Delphi 11.2 Alexandria 64 bit

I've just tested your project here on my dev PC and it works fine, if I recompile it with 11.1.5. I've not installed 11.2 yet. Have you tried with 11.1.5? AFAIK, 11.2 is supposed to be binary compatible with 11.1.5, so I'm not sure why it would break madExcept.
