Re: Memory Leak Detection - very slow

Does it actually find a lot of leaks, after that half an hour?

Not sure why SetChildLeakFiltering(False) doesn't help, it's supposed to.

Re: Memory Leak Detection - how to find reason

This looks like an intentional leak in madExcept itself. I guess I should "hide" it, so it doesn't get reported.

Re: Stack traces: show Decimal Thead ID in addition to hexadecimal, show thread's name

I think the thread name set by NameThreadForDebugging should already be shown. In your example bug report it should then show as e.g. "thread $2b98 (YourChosenName):". Adding the thread ID in decimal is somewhat "dangerous" because there are various tools that parse the bug repor...

Re: Integrate MadExcept with DevExpress Logify

I've no experience with it, unfortunately. Just to be clear, this is not a madExcept bug, right? Just an issue with getting something uploaded to DevExpress at all? In that case, have you tried asking DevExpress about it? If you're able to upload something with a simple brand new test dpr, then it s...

Re: Anti-Freeze-Thread should not interfere with the SendAssistant

In theory the freeze report box should be shown and should not be auto-closed, nor should the send assistant be auto-closed.

Do they increase with the DPI size, though? They do for me.

Re: There are several complaints on the Forum about font sizes and dialog sizes.

madExcept.pas exports this variable: var AddFontSize : integer = 0; You can set it to something like 1 or 2, if you want bigger font size in the madExcept dialog in your application. For the madExcept wizard, you can use the registry mentioned by iconic. However, it seems the current build has this ...

Re: There are several complaints on the Forum about font sizes and dialog sizes.

The madExcept settings dialog is of no consequence, IMHO. I thought you were talking about the font size of the madExcept exception box in your application?

Re: Changing NVLabel content on form action handler

I think the assistant is created in its entirely, or do I remember that incorrectly? It's been a very long time since I implemented it. If it's created in its entirety - with all pages - before OnAssistantCreate is called, you should be able to modify the label. You probably don't even need to copy ...

Re: Enabling madExcept on debug build causes stack overflow on exception

The callstack has madExcept32.dll in it a lot. This dll is only ever used for the active error search features. It is not used for any other purpose. It's not even loaded if you have the active error search features disabled. So what this practically means is that I'm 99.9% sure that module (exe or ...

Re: Restart application under certain condition

Sure, you can do that. For example, you could use RegisterExceptActionHandler() to be notified about when bug report sending has completed, and then check the "exceptIntf" interface if the exception is the one you want to restart your application for. http://help.madshi.net/madExceptUnit.h...

Re: Changing NVLabel content on form action handler

It's been many years since I worked on that part of the madExcept code, so my memory is a bit shady. I think you should be able to use the following callback exported by madNVAssistant.pas: var OnAssistantCreate : procedure (const assistant: INVAssistant; const exception: IUnknown) = nil; You should...
